((After a night of rethinking and working, I got a new idea that I'm liking a whole lot better. And since it is AU, why not go REALLY out there. Go big or go home, am I right?))
Rain was having a bad day. A really, really, really bad day. Sure, she had some bad days before, and not all of her outer world adventures had been smooth sailing, but this one was, by far, the most aggravating, irritating, infuriating day she had experienced yet. And to think, it all had started with just a little exploring.
On The Grid, with the neon lights bordering the edges of the structures of the datascape, there was a constant twilight that came from the dark plains, combined with the light pollution throughout the world. But as Rain discovered, the people themselves were just as guilty of it as the architecture itself. Her usual clothes were gone, instead having a black lookalike as a substitute. A long sleeved jumper with shorts, and black knee-high boots, with light blue circuitry- welded? wired? sewn?- lining the outfit. Though the outfit was not worth worrying about. It was the fact that Rain was very much without her tonguns, backpack, dagger, or even her belt of knives.
She got a helmet too, all of a sudden, which had thrown her off at first because of the visor it came with. After a little while of navigating this bizarre and confusing world, Rain finally bit the bullet and put on her thin blue glasses, since the lights were even more confusing with her blurry vision. This allowed her to glower with as much ferocity as she could muster to the similarly glowing black and blue disk in her gloved hands. Her hands clenched the ring in a white-knuckle grip as she heaved through gritted teeth. She turned on her heel, reaching her hand back as as far as it would go.
"Curse you, you stupid piece of junk!" She yelled as she chucked it. The disk flew off accordingly, but slowed and paused in midair before hurtling back to her. She caught it, her glower not lessening in the slightest as she held it out at arm's length. "You're completely useless to me! Now give me back my weapons!"
Which was a ridiculous request, since the disk was perfectly innocent. It was just an unfortunate target for her current anger. she turned back around and knocked her head against the lighted T-shaped post. Could this day possibly get any worse?
