Alright so you plan to get involved in this war and start a fight? Or maybe you plan to defend against an attack? Well, you've come to the right place!
First of all there are a few provisos and rules for fighting, some of which start at the core basics; attacks and dodging. We all know what these things do, but perhaps we don't know how to do them well in Roleplay form when playing with other characters and not being modded by a machine. Hopefully these rules and guidelines will make it a little simpler for you.
1.) For a Skirmish to be Official, you have to make a Request. The Request Template will be at the bottom of the Rules, so you will be expected to follow them to the letter. Any fight not done under official Skirmish rules will not be counted toward any official accomplishments, missions, or prizes.
2.) You must have your final party together BEFORE you post the Skirmish Request. Adding members to either the Defense or Assault party after the Request has been posted is strictly prohibited. Also, some Plot Skirmishes will have special rules that the party must follow or lose points for it. Examples might be "No Summons" or "No Barriers." Keep this in mind when choosing members you want in your skirmish party. It's annoying when your a member who can't do anything because the rules of the fight block your most prominent techniques, so we give you fair warning in advance to try to keep such unfair things from happening; keep in mind this will not always be the case, but most of the time, I like to keep it fair.
3.) Fight Basic Guidelines. For a fight on the boards, there are a few basic Guidelines to keep in mind. For any basic fight on the boards, these are the guidelines you must follow:
With those guidelines, I believe all the important basics are covered.
Skirmish Request Application Should Look Like THIS:
World of Interest : (name of the world)
Assault/Defense Party : (in the order you would like to post; keep in mind this is half the battle right here.)
Alignment of Party :(Light or Dark) ***
***One final note to be covered; if a world has been Corrupted due to plot reasons and not simply taken by other regular members, you will have to fight a Boss Skirmish before the world can be won over. Boss Skirmishes are first come first serve; the team that gets to it first gets to fight in it first. Don't worry if you miss out on one, though. There will be other opportunities for you to exact your vengeance upon the evildoers.A note for any who made it this far; if you properly read the rules, copy and paste the code for the request from the code box and pay no attention to what the application in this post looks like. Carry on.

3.) Fight Basic Guidelines. For a fight on the boards, there are a few basic Guidelines to keep in mind. For any basic fight on the boards, these are the guidelines you must follow:
- A. You have three (3) moves per post. This includes the use of attacks, items, dodging, blocking and summoning. Summons, after being summoned, have their own move set of two (2) moves per post, but cannot block, and can only dodge under extreme circumstances, since most are bigger than some houses.
- B. You are able, and ENCOURAGED, to be creative with how you use your attacks. You may find that in a battle that is evenly powered/matched, someone with an innovative idea on how to use their techniques might win out over the other side. At the same time, you are asked to be practical in your usage of your techniques in terms of size, power and duration. Don't forget to use your surroundings. Your opponent may not be your only obstacle.
- C. It is a REQUIREMENT from the judges of every fight that you MUST list your cooldowns and durations in the following format to keep all powers and their wait times clear. This keeps things nice and neat for the judges to grade and it prevents "forgetting" that someone could not use a certain move or how many moves they made a turn. You will be held accountable for counting your moves and keeping within the 3 action limit. Failure to do so may cost you valuable points.
Example:
Skirmish Post Here
___________________________________
Fira - Cooldown: Two posts left
Thundara - Cooldown : Usable next post
Ultimate Form - Duration: One More Post
Potion - Negates [Opponent's Name Here]'s Blizzara
Ether - Used to reduce the cooldown of [Comrade's name here]'s Aerora - D. Forms: Form changes do not cost you a move; however any special attacks/techniques the form has will be counted as regular attacks and they must also be listed at the bottom with your cooldowns and durations as illustrated above in my example.
With those guidelines, I believe all the important basics are covered.
